started homestuck yesterday. i am not sure what compelled me to do this, but i found myself downloading the Unofficial Homestuck Collection and reading it. enjoying it so far! currently on page 339. this is not the first time i have started, but hopefully it will be the last time i start it. my previous attempt go to i believe somewhere in the page 2000 area, so a decent amount but still not the majority. i dont remember a LOT of what i have previously read also, which i think is better than remembering it and agonizing how there is so much i have to read before i get to the stuff i dont remember. i am using the official collection also, so i will read any and all supplementary materials included with this. i feel like i really jive with Hussie's sense of humor, especially with stuff like Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff which is still one of the funniest things i have seen on the internet. its perfect.
i got my haircut today, and i now have bangs! will unfortunately not be posting an image of those, if i ever post an image of myself on here it will be from the Game Boy Camera and have insane contrast to obscure features of my face, and right now as i write this i am too lazy to do that.
lotta gaming news since my last post. currently borrowing a PlayStation 4 from my friend! in 3 days i managed to do an entire playthrough of Sackboy: A Big Adventure. i am not interested in 100%ing it, just hitting credits is good enough for me. its an alright platformer, but nothing really special. as i allude to in my review, the only part that stuck out to me was the jukebox levels, especially Seesaws On The Sea Floor, which has a fucking King Gizzard song playing!!!! i knew of this level before i played, and it is the only reason i was interested in playing this game. i have never played a LittleBigPlanet game and i dont really have any fondness for Sackboy as a character. i have started a Dark Souls Remastered playthrough, and am about to start a Shadow of the Colossus (2018) playthrough soon. hopefully i will make quick work of at least Shadow of the Colossus, i have a lot of games on this thing i wanna play. i beat Nier Automata! theres a pretty significant issue i have with the story of the game which i really focused on in my review, but i truly do love this game. i think the themes in the story itself are really good, and thought it was brilliant to explore humanity from outsider lens, its just the story in its entirety and its relationship with the medium that i have issue with but i will restrain myself from talking too much about it here.
downloaded MAMEUI64 and a whole romset for it, and have been enjoying a few arcade games. been playing a good amount of Xevious in attempts to be able to best all the areas in one life, and hopefully get a crazy high score while i do it. i am also interested in a few other arcade schmups, it is a genre i have not explored much of and i really need to remedy that.
not really a news thing, but more of a thought. the 3DS would have been a really good console for some kind of Luigi's Mansion AR game. i could definitely see Dream Radar's gameplay being easily adapted to catching ghosts in first person. dont really think there could be any kind of environmental puzzle solving that the actual games have but its not like Dream Radar had actual pokemon battling! this spawned out of a thought regarding some kind of Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit adjacent game for Luigi's Mansion. i think placing Luigi in your own dark and scary house and capturing ghosts and stuff would be really cool, and probably a nightmare of game design to figure out. the bottomline is i just want to see weird niche things with Luigi's Mansion. and there is precedent for this after all! we got that arcade game after all.
anyways, see you next time!
