i've been listening to POST HUMAN: NeX GEn religiously for a few weeks now, consider giving it a listen while you read!
we are a week and a half into the semester, and it has been going decently. i am taking more of an interest in astronomy than i thought i would, and my audio and programming classes have been going fine. last semester i was on campus for half a day mon-thurs, but now i am only on campus for a few hours on average now! it seems that my friend and i are going to start regularly driving to my place to watch tv after my class is over. we watched the first two episodes of Smiling Friends and its always a joy to rewatch that show. adult animation is the best!! i do think that i have some anxiety issues with being on campus. last wednesday i had to cancel my drum lesson as i just fell down an insane anxiety spiral and had a breakdown when i got in our car. it wasn't fun! it pretty much just felt like i was crying to cry, and not for any actual particular reason. it is entirely possible my HRT contributed to this also, although i haven't felt any other emotional changes as a result of the medication. if it happens again, ill look into getting some anti-anxiety meds. i have family members who also suffer from bad anxiety so its probably just in the family i guess. no matter how much of a cool exterior i try and put up, you can't fake it on the inside.
still been playing a lot of Doom, although yesterday i actually didnt play any which caused the several week streak to end. finished master levels, evilution, and now onto plutonia on UV. i have a big ol list of Doom-related things i want to play eventually, so the Doom grind will never end! and i dont really want it to. Doom fucking rocks.
my Miyoo Mini Plus arrived! i have quickly fallen in love with it, installing a YoRHa theme and filling it up with a good amount of roms. playing Super Mario World and Mario's Picross right now. this thing might be a perfect picross machine, and honestly i still would have paid what i paid for this even if all it did was play picross games. picross is worth it. also been doing a few lowkey game sessions that i am not gonna add to backloggd yet, like Wario Blast. ive played a bit of Bomberman GB 2 for Trans Game Boy, and i far prefer GB 2 compared to Wario Blast/GB 1. why is it presented as a round best two out of three system? bizarre. might start a Kirby's Dream Land 2 or Wario Land 3 playthrough soon though, both are sequels i desperately need to play. some Arcade and PSX games don't work unfortunately, like Vib Ribbon just refuses to get into gameplay. i am not heartbroken by this thankfully, i mainly just put it on my miyoo to try and see if it worked. which it kinda does!
its September! we get UFO 50 AND a new zelda game this month!!! as long as i get my homework for classes done, i plan on dumping an irresponsible amount of time in these games. i do return to Flashpoint a day after UFO 50 comes out, and honestly i am not sure if i want to return. i have been enjoying this break so much. playing games, reading books and articles, watching anime with the bestie, not a single hint of archival project related stress to be seen. i think after i return i will try and be in the server not as much as i was before. no matter what happens, as previously mentioned, i cannot leave this scene yet. but maybe i just need to rethink my place in it.
been tinkering with my Linux desktop and i am really happy with how it currently looks!
had to resize my linux partiton yesterday and give it 500 more gb, i somehow ran out without noticing! i could have sworn i still had 20 gb to spare, but i guess not. very, very soon i plan on fully cleaning out my windows installation and just putting my Mint installation on the SSD, as it currently resides on my newer HDD. i have no issues with performance speed, but of course it is still preferable if its taking advantage of the SSD.
