it has been a hot minute! more than two months have passed since i blogged, and a lot has happened! a lot of good days, a lot of bad days, especially that one really fun night of having to come to grips with the fall of this country into the hands of christofascism. not fun stuff! but we get up and dust ourselves off and get right back on the horse.
in terms of gaming, the highlights include Metroid Prime, Super Mario Sunshine, UFO 50 (one of these days i will make a blog post entirely dedicated to that game, there is just so much to say about it!), replayed Undertale, and right now i am currently in the middle of a Hollow Knight playthrough. so many wonderful gaming experiences have been had. i have been learning a bit more about Space Invaders, Xevious, and Fantasy Zone. i have found i have a big love for textmode graphics, as a result of going down the rabbit hole regarding a Fantasy Zone MZ-700 port. its been so interesting looking at ports of games to the 700, a pc i really have never heard of until know, a lotta super interesting stuff that i might get into in a future blog post when i know more about it.
this next bit mentions blood and its a little gross, so skip if that makes you squeamish. i have been regularly doing drum lessons every wednesday, from which i have had a blister on my hand. i was proud of that blister just cause its a tangible reminder of the progress i am making in these lessons. today we were working on My Chemical Romance's Teenagers, and at the very end of the session, the blister started bleeding. i went from proud to super proud, i was literally bleeding from practice, i have given sweat and blood (not quite tears) for drumming now. woohoo!
i am very excited for the semester to end. i am so tired of school at this point and i look forward to the at least half a year break i will be taking next year, although i do have one class over the winter session i will need to take. it is a 4 week class but i will be waking up early mon-thurs. it sucks, a lot, but it will be my last trial here at this college and i can face it, and then i can drown myself in hobbies until next fall, assuming i don't go anywhere before then, which i mention as i really do just want to go stay with a far away friend for a while, im hoping an opportunity for this arises at some point. i need to get out and be on my own.
anyways, see you next time!
